What is a Drop-Down Bed in a Motorhome?

A drop-down bed (also called a pull-down bed or lowering bed) is a bed system that descends from the ceiling when needed and stows overhead during the day. This clever space-saving design is common in motorhomes where maximising daytime floor space is important. Drop-down beds are typically positioned over the cab area or above the main lounge. Electric versions lower at the touch of a button; manual versions use straps or winches. When raised, the bed creates full standing headroom below. Drop-down beds are particularly popular in A-class motorhomes and campervans where floor space is at a premium.
