Will It Fit? Motorhome, Campervan & Caravan Dimensions Check
Free height, width and length checker for UK car parks, garages, ferries and bridges
- Uses model database
- Includes safety buffers
- Browse matching vehicles
Bridge strikes cost thousands and cause serious injuries
- •Low bridges, car parks, and ferry decks catch out hundreds of drivers each year
- •Knowing your vehicle dimensions before you travel prevents costly damage
Checking dimensions is essential before driving a motorhome, campervan or caravan into an unfamiliar car park, garage or ferry. Height barriers at UK supermarkets are commonly set at 2.0m to 2.1m, which will exclude most leisure vehicles. Use this free tool to verify clearance before you commit.

How the Dimensions Check works
What we check
We compare three key measurements: height (important for barriers, bridges and ferries),width (crucial for narrow lanes and parking bays), and length (affects ferry pricing and driveway fit). Our model database contains dimensions for hundreds of caravans, motorhomes and campervans from UK manufacturers.
Safety buffers
We subtract clearance margins from your constraint: 5cm for height, 10cm for width, and 20cm for length. These buffers account for uneven ground, measurement tolerances and driver error. A result showing "Caution" means it technically fits but with minimal margin.
What to measure on your vehicle
Height: Measure to the highest fixed point, including roof boxes, satellite dishes, air conditioning units and roof rails. Width: Include wing mirrors and awning rails. Length: Include bike racks, spare wheels and tow bars.
Common UK problem spots
Car parks: Most supermarket barriers are 2.0-2.1m. Ferries: Standard car decks typically allow up to 2.3m height. Bridges: Network Rail bridges vary widely. Narrow lanes: Single-track roads in rural areas can be under 2.5m wide.
